1st Edition 1938. An uncommon book in this edition. The 'Special Presentation Edition' of Daphne Du Maurier's classic of romantic fiction. This is one of 200 copies of this presentation edition which was issued in the same black cloth binding as the first edition with 'Rebecca' printed in gilt in the corner of the upper board and its designation as the 'Special Presentation Edition' emblazoned across the title page. Victor Gollancz had this edition printed shortly after first publication for presentation to the grandees of English publishing as a way of promoting what was already a runaway bestseller. Book is good++ and quite bright. Light edge rubbing. Gilt dull on spine. Spine lightly creased. Contents average. Pages age toned and foxed.
