Two Hand Written Signed Letters and a Telegram from Writer Elinor Glyn to a Mr Arthur Bryant. All dated 1941. To Arthur Bryant praising Bryant’s talk , urging him to broadcast his ideas to the masses and arranging to meet at Prunier’s for dinner. Very interesting letters with regards to the ability of Mr Bryant to convey his grasp of the mind and his ability to discuss these in public. Elinor Glyn 1864-1943 was a British novelist and scriptwriter who specialised in romantic fiction, which was considered scandalous for its time, although her works are relatively tame by modern standards. She popularized the concept of the It-girl, and had tremendous influence on early 20th-century popular culture and, possibly, on the careers of notable Hollywood stars such as Rudolph Valentino, Gloria Swanson and, especially, Clara Bow.

Sir Arthur Bryant, 1899-1985 was an English historian, columnist for The Illustrated London News and man of affairs. His books included studies of Samuel Pepys, accounts of English eighteenth- and nineteenth-century history, and a life of George V. Whilst his scholarly reputation has declined somewhat since his death, he continues to be read and to be the subject of detailed historical studies. He moved in high government circles, where his works were influential, being the favourite historian of three prime ministers: Winston Churchill, Clement Attlee, and Harold Wilson.
Bryant's historiography was often based on an English romantic exceptionalism drawn from his nostalgia for an idealised agrarian past. He hated modern commercial and financial capitalism, he emphasised duty over rights, and he equated democracy with the consent of "fools" and "knaves".[ Letter Sizes are is 205mm x 160mm and 203m x 128mm.
