Frances Newbold Noyes Hart 1890 – 1943 was an American crime writer whose short stories were published in American magazines. In 1948, Noyes' book The Bellamy Trial won the Grand Prix de Littérature Policière International Prize, the most prestigious award for crime and detective fiction in France. The Bellamy Trail was a pioneering work which defined the genre of the court-room mystery drama. The author's fame is based largely on this book.
