1st Edition 1947. Very scarce variant with yellow cloth instead of the normal orange. Not mentioned in the bibliography. Signed by the author. Signed Malory Tower books are notoriously uncommon and this would have been given by Blyton when it was first published. Wonderful Provenance: Joy Clark, thence by descent. Joy Clark born 1937 grew up in Beaconsfield with her parents Isabella and Cecil Clark. The Clark's ran an ironmonger's shop in the town and Enid Blyton was a regular customer. For many years whenever one of her books was published, Blyton would kindly sign and give a book to Joy, who was a small child at the time. Book is very good++ and bright. Contents good. A few illustrations have been neatly coloured in. The wrapper is very good and bright. Edges rubbed, nicked and with small closed tears/nicks. Small loss to spine tips.
