Cyril Flower, 1st Baron Battersea 1843 – 1907 was a British Liberal politician and patron of art.Apart from his property development and political career he was also a great collector and patron of art. He was a patron of James McNeill Whistler and was involved with the Pre-Raphaelite set. In 1902, Battersea was involved in a homosexual scandal. Although ringleader in the case, in which two procurers were imprisoned, he was secretly granted immunity from prosecution by the Government of Arthur Balfour. The books are very good++ and bright.
