
New Impression1910. An early 'Yellowback style book' A yellowback is a cheap novel or book which was published in Britain in the second half of the 19th/20th century. Developed in the 1840s to compete with the "penny dreadful", yellow-backs were marketed as entertaining reading. They had brightly coloured covers, often printed by chromoxylography. Book is good++ and quite bright. Edges worn and rubbed but complete and functioning well. Surface rubbing especially on spien effecting the wording/artwork. Hinges lightly repaired professionally. Contents quite good. Small name. Early pages a little age toned.
