The titles are tooled in gilt on the spine. The spine has 5 raised bands with 6 gilt ruled panels. The boards each have one gilt ruled line along the edges, the top and bottom corner edges are tooled with gilt parallel lined decoration.The inside of the boards each have one gilt ruled line with the binders signature in gilt to the bottom of the front paste down. All page edges are coated with very fine gold leaf and it has fine marbled end papers. The text is printed on India paper. The book measures 8¾" x 5¾" and it has xxiii + 918 pages.The condition is very good++ with the binding square and firm. Spine a little darkened. Contents good.
