1st Edition 1950. Presentation inscription from Gillian probably to a friend. This book is from the Estate of Gillian Baverstock ( 1931-2007) the eldest daughter of Enid Blyton. This archive of Enid Blyton books was sold in auction in the United Kingdom. Many of these books have Gillian Baverstock's name inside or her childhood names of Pollock and Darrell-Waters. As quoted in the auction catalogue, 'names seen in inscriptions include Pollock (Gillian's first family name) and G Pollock can be assumed to be hers as a child, and in all likelihood gifts from her mother.' A special bookplate has been commissioned and will be affixed to each book. This bookplate details the auction date, lot number and the quantity from each lot e.g. Lot 335 - 1 of 46 books. Book is very good++ and with bright boards. Contents very good. Inscription to lightly foxed endpaper. Page edges a little dusty. The wrapper is very good+ with slightly rubbed and nicked edges. Slight loss to s[ine tips/corners. A few small closed tears to edges.
