CONTAINING TWO PRAYER BOOKS, COMMON PRAYER BOOK AND HYMNS A & M.It measures 95mm x 65mm x 30mm deep and weighs 160g.unpacked.The Common Prayer book has 399 pages and the Hymns book has 469. The books have wine leather covers and all page edges are gilt. There are hallmarks as follows :Three wheat sheaves, the mark of the Chester Assay Office. The lion passant, the mark of solid sterling silver A date letter, an ornate 'e' which is for 1905. The makers initials ' W J M & Co. ', which is for W J Myatt. There is a design number at the top of the lily design.The case and books are in superb undamaged condition. The silver front is perfect with no dents or splits. The leather is unmarked. The books are complete and all the pages are flat with no tears or creases. The gilt edges are bright and unfaded. The books are unused and in wonderful condition. The front free endpaper of Hymns has been carefully cut away. This is quite common, since the page was often used for a dedication and subsequent owners would sometimes remove it. The title page of the Common Prayer book has a narrow 3.5 cm. slit at the gutter edge. The black endpapers are in excellent, unmarked condition. The leather carry strap is in perfect condition.
