Includes an Original Signed Paper slip dated 1901 by H Rider Haggard. To the reverse is stamped St Katherines, Ledbury, Herefordshire. Henry Rider Haggard was born in Norfolk in 1856, the son of a Norfolk squire. His sister married Charles Edward Maddison Green, rector of Ledbury and Master of St. Katherine's Hospital. Rider Haggard was a regular visitor to their home at the Master's House at St. Katherine's Hospital. Most famous for his adventure stories, such as King Solomon's Mines, he also wrote extensively on rural matters and some of his research was conducted on his visits to Herefordshire. Size 92mm x 78mm Condition is good. Light edge rubbing. Small holes to bottom. Folded edge. The Book is very good+ and in quite bright condition. Spine slightly dull. Edges lightly rubbed. Contents good.
