1st Edition 1864. FURTHER PAPERS RELATING TO THE MILITARY OPERATIONS IN NEW ZEALAND. BRITISH PARLIAMENTARY PAPER 10262. HOUSE OF COMMONS LONDON, PRINTED BY EYRE & SPOTTISWOODE, HMSO FIRST EDITION.A VERY RARE OFFICIAL BRITISH PARLIAMENTARY PAPER FOLIO SIZE, WITH 67 PAGES Extremely good condition in a protective cover. There had already been much fighting between the Maoris and the British settlers, and the colonists were not prepared to countenance Maori controlling and ruling most of the land in the North Island. War broke out again in 1863 with the Invasion of the Waikato. To assist in this war, a temporary navy was established. This was the Waikato Flotilla, New Zealand's first de facto navy, comprising eight riverboats, four armoured barges, five coastal boats and a naval dockyard. The Waikato War, including the Tauranga Campaign, was the biggest of all the New Zealand Wars.

This Parliamentary Paper covers the period from April to July 1864 and contain descriptions of military engagements between the two sides, as well as despatches and diplomatic correspondence. A very rare official document of some historical significance. Printed by George Edward Eyre and Wm. Spotswood. Printers to the Queen. An extremely rare and valuable British Parliamentary Paper. Folio size. Very Good condition. Now held in a protective paper binder.
