
1st Edition 1947. Wonderful Provenance: Joyce Clark, thence by descent. Joy Clark born 1937 grew up in Beaconsfield with her parents Isabella and Cecil Clark. The Clark's ran an ironmonger's shop in the town and Enid Blyton was a regular customer. For many years whenever one of her books was published, Blyton would kindly sign and give a book to Joy, who was a small child at the time. End papers illustrated with a green & white countryside scene. With 16 colour plates and numerous b/w illustrations in the text.Book is very good and bright. Contents good,. Pages age toned. The wrapper is just about good with major loss to spine top and bottom edge. Edges rubbed and nicked. A few small closed tears and minuscule loss to edges.. Conforms to all 1st Edition points as required in the Blyton bibliography.
