Includes a specially commissioned small bookplate affixed inside the book confirming this. First edition. 2500 copies printed. Contains two pieces of fiction, the first of novella length, the second a novelette. Both with supernatural undertones that are brought out more clearly in an appendix in which the author comments on the origin of the stories. The first story has a historical setting in the early days of the English monarchy. "An Old Thorn" is about a "wishing-tree," which has the power of rewarding its friends and punishing its enemies. Among the author's notes is a one-page ghost story. Book is very good and quite bright. Spine a little uneven. Contents good. The wrapper is good and quite bright. Edges rubbed/nicked.
