
1st Edition 4th Imp 1933. Considered a classic in travel literature, this book tells of Fleming's search for the lost Colonel Percy Fawcett in the Brazilian jungle. Fawcett, along with his son and another companion disappeared in Brazil whilst searching for the Lost City of Z. With meagre supplies, faulty maps and packs of rival newspapermen on their trail, Fleming and his companions marched, canoed and hacked through 3,000 miles of wilderness and alligator-ridden rivers in search of the fate of the lost explorer. The book is illustrated throughout with photos. From a large collection of Henry Williamson's and his family's books. Includes a specially commissioned small bookplate affixed inside the book confirming this. Book is very good with bright boards and spine. Colour printing on spine dulled/erased in places. The wrapper is very good and bright. Edges rubbed and nicked. Minuscule loss to spine tips and a few small, closed tears. Spine age toned. Contents good.
