A letter that reads: “I think you might write a very interesting and reasonable article on the Bible in Italy and Rome”. etc Thomas Guthrie 1803-1873 was a Scottish divine and philanthropist. He was one of the most popular preachers of his day in Scotland, and was associated with many forms of philanthropy—especially temperance and Ragged Schools, of which he was a founder. Levi Leone, 1821-1888. English jurist and statistician. His chief work, History of British Commerce and of the Economic Progress of the British Nation, 1763-1870, is considered to be a partisan account of British economic development.
