An Original Official Hand Written Award to Levi Leone from The Vice President of the Republic of Paraguay Salvador Jovellanos and Jose Falcon for services. Signed by Both to base. Dated C1871. Salvador Silvestre del Rosario Jovellanos Guanes 1833-1881 was a Paraguayan politician. He served as Vice President in 1871, and President from 1871-1874. His main concern as president was Paraguay's slow recovery from Paraguay's humiliating defeat in Paraguayan War with Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay. He died in Buenos Aires in 1881.
Jose Falcón 1810-1883, Paraguayan archivist, historian, and government official. Falcón's occupied many official posts: senator, high court justice, president of the Asunción city council, and foreign minister. Levi Leone, 1821-1888. English jurist and statistician. His chief work, History of British Commerce and of the Economic Progress of the British Nation, 1763-1870, is considered to be a partisan account of British economic development. Size is 420mm x 350mm. Condition is about good. Light folding creases and light marking.Creasing and small closed tears to edges. Rear edge with paper residue. Paper loss below signature of the President.
