The letter to the Duke of Buckingham and Chandos, promising to 'lay at his Majesty's feet the staff of Lord Steward of his Majesty's House' (following Buckingham's resigning the position). Charles Grey, 2nd Earl Grey 1764-1845, known as Viscount Howick between 1806 and 1807, was a British politician who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1830 to 1834.
