
An Original Handwritten and Signed Letter from Needlework Writer and Expert Mary Symonds to Ottoline Morrell. Dated 1913. An interesting letter discussing fabrics, embroidery skills, colours and styles of the materials Morrell has or could order. Morrell was an avid embroidery fan. Lady Ottoline Violet Anne Morrell 1873 – 1938 was an English aristocrat and society hostess. Her patronage was influential in artistic and intellectual circles, where she befriended writers including Aldous Huxley, Siegfried Sassoon, T. S. Eliot and D. H. Lawrence, and artists including Mark Gertler, Dora Carrington and Gilbert Spencer. Size is 255mm x 200mm. Condition is good. Folding creases and light foxing.
