A letter urging that he be allowed to retain his veterinary surgeons, as there is insufficient number for the work, endorsed and sanctioned by General Estcourt. Colonel William Parlby 1801-1881 was a senior British Army officer, who served in British cavalry regiments in India and the Crimean War. General James Estcourt 1803-1855 was a major-general and MP.
