A letter discussing Horsley's appointment to the office of the Treasury of the Royal Academy. James Nasmyth 1808-1890 was a Scottish engineer, philosopher, artist and inventor famous for his development of the steam hammer. John C Horsley 1817-1903 was an English academic painter of genre and historical scenes, illustrator, and designer of the first Christmas card English. Size is 155mm x 100mm. Condition is good. Light folding creases.
