
An Original Handwritten Letter Signed by British Museum Curator John Edward Gray to Levi Leone. Dated 1867. A letter mentioning his decimal system, support for reform from Bowring, and commending Levi’s report. John Edward Gray 1800-1875 was a British zoologist. Gray was keeper of zoology at the British Museum in London from 1840 until Christmas 1874. Levi Leone, 1821-1888. English jurist and statistician. His chief work, History of British Commerce and of the Economic Progress of the British Nation, 1763-1870, is considered to be a partisan account of British economic development.
