
An Original Handwritten Letter Signed by Architect G F Bodley to John Callcott Horsley Designer of the first Christmas Card and to the Rear a Short Note in the hand of John Horsley. Dated 1902. A letter discussing his recent appointment into the “inner circle of the Royal Academy”. G F Bodley 1827-1907 was an English Gothic Revival architect. He was a pupil of Sir George Gilbert Scott, and worked in partnership with Thomas Garner for much of his career. John C Horsley 1817-1903 was an English academic painter of genre and historical scenes, illustrator, and designer of the first Christmas card. Size is 180mm x 115mm. Condition is good. Light folding creases.
