
An Original Hand Written and Signed Letter from Stratfield Saye House by Prime Minister Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington. Dated 1838. The letter is thanking a Mr Wilson of Devonshire Square for his note. Also includes a hand written note about the Duke of Wellington and his house Stratfield Saye House. Not sure if this is the note the Duke Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington, 1769-1852 was an Anglo-Irish soldier and Tory statesman who was one of the leading military and political figures of 19th-century Britain, serving twice as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. He is among the commanders who won and ended the Napoleonic Wars when the coalition defeated Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. Size is 185mm x 115mm. Condition is good. Light gum marks to rear of blank page.
