Charles Grant Blairfindie Allen 1848-1899 was a Canadian science writer and novelist, educated in England. He was a public promoter of Darwin's evolution in the second half of the nineteenth century. Allen also became a pioneer in science fiction, with the novel The British Barbarians (1895) This book, published about the same time as H. G. Wells's The Time Machine which includes a mention of Aliens and also described time travel. From a autograph book kept by A. P. Watt (1834-1914), founder of A. P. Watt & Son in 1875, the world's first literary agents. Size of letter is 163mm x 113mm. Folding centre crease.
