Henry Liddell (1811–1898), the clergyman, headmaster and author. He was a great friend of Lewis Carroll, who wrote Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland for his daughter, Alice. Liddell was Dean of Christ Church Oxford from 1855 to 1891. He writes on November 19 1876 to Henry Shuttleworth, who was leaving his post as Chaplain of Christ Church to become a Minor Canon at St. Paul’s Cathedral: Dear Sir, I think I shall have no difficulty in granting you the 6 months' grace from the time of vacancy. Will you be so kind as to send me the date of your appointment. I am, Very faithfully, H.G. Liddell. Size is 155mm x 100mm. Condition is good and light folding creases. Light repair to rear crease.
