
An Original Hand Written General Session of the Delivery of Gaol in the County of Surrey and Richmond led by Sir James Mansfield and other justices. The document goes in detail of various felonies by certain individuals in Richmond and the length of Gaol and felonies such as burglary and stealing horses. These were committed mainly by a gentleman John Knight who was apprehended by Ralph Price. 1805. Signed in the hand by Mansfield to the base. Sir James Mansfield, 1734-1821 was a British lawyer, judge and politician. He was twice Solicitor General and served as Chief Justice of the Common Pleas from 1799 to 1814. Size of Act is 275mm x 170mm. Condition is average. Light folding creases. Rear of letter has gum marks. Foxed and age toned.
