
A very rare Original Handwritten and Signed Document by member of Parliament of Ireland and Dublin Recorder John Bysse. Dated 1639/1640. The document concerns the examination before him of Margaret Floyd and Francis Banes, wives of servants of the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland [Thomas Wentworth, 1st Earl of Strafford], concerning the violent attack on Mary, the wife of Randall Udall, 2 January 1639/40,. John Bysse 1602–1680 was a member of the Parliament of Ireland during the 1630s and 1640s. He was excluded from office during the Interregnum, but became one of the most senior Irish judges after the Restoration of Charles II. Size is 175mm x 110mm. In average condition.
